The Bulgarian National Assembly Passed the Amendments in the Social Insurance Code

The Bulgarian National assembly passed on first and second readings the amendments in the Social Insurance Code. According to the amendments the voluntary pension insurance companies shall be permitted to invest in the infrastructure, buy bonds, emitted by the Bulgarian Encouraging bank. This way the pension insurance companies will have better opportunities to invest and this will lead to increase in their profitability. Even if the investment turns out to be unprofitable, the pension fund shall not lose its money as they are guaranteed by the bank. Also according to the Social Insurance Code the pension insurance companies shall send annual extracts to their clients, containing all the information for the client`s incomes. Every pension insurance company has pension calculator on their web sites and when the information from the annual extract is typed in the calculator the average amount of the pension could be computed.
