A new Bulgarian act stipulating that signs and tags should be written in the Roman alphabet

The Minister of State Administration and Administrative reform Nikolai Vasilev announced the creation of Transliteration of Bulgarian cities, geographic, cultural and history objects in the Roman alphabet. According to the Minister the existing transliteration legislation is not good enough for the tourists and it needs to be done in more accurate manner.The Ministry of State Administration and Administrative Reform and "Republic Road infrastructure" fund are working together in the preparation of the act. The Minister of State Administration and Administrative reform Nikolai Vasilev reminded that from the beginning of 2006 the number of state employees decreased from 92 000 to 85 000. According to him the EU is funding Bulgaria to help us improve the administrative management not the bureaucracy's increase.
