The State subsidy for Bulgarian parties shall be increased

Amendments in the Political Parties Act foresee triple increase of the state subsidy for political parties.
A stipulation in the abovementioned bill is the prohibition of financing parties by juridical persons. Furthermore, the parties shall now be obliged to keep a public register of their grantors as well as the amount of donations collected. Physical persons will be able to grant up to BGN 30 000 according.
Parties are proposed to be obliterated if have not received more than 1 % of real votes in two serial national elections. If they do not have more than 5 000 members, parties shall be obliterated, too. Till the end of the year, Prosecutor's Office should conduct an examination and make proposals to court to dismiss parties that do not cover those requirements. However, this doesn't affect parties since which registration have not been conducted two serial elections for National or European Parliament members.
