Bulgaria Imports Bulgarians with Green Card

Green card for Bulgarians abroad releases Bulgarian Government. The document gives right to 2 million compatriots abroad to work and live in Bulgaria. This is the new strategy for returning of ethnic Bulgarians and was worked out by Foreign Ministry experts. Green card is the Government's attempt to manage with the demographic collapse and the lack of skilled workers in key economic sectors. According to the Government, the green card will attract the Bulgarian communities in Ukraine, Russia and the Balkans and also emigrants, who had left the country before 1989. Mainly Bessarabian Bulgarians will avail of the green card. Though it will give rights for stay, the green card won't provide Bulgarian passport automatically, explained the Foreign minister Ivailo Kalfin.
