Value added tax (VAT) shall be imposed on the legal services in Bulgaria

The proposal 20 % value added tax to be laid on solicitors' services was passed affirmatively on the second readings of the Value Added Tax Act.Some deputies of the govern party "GERB" and "Coalition for Bulgaria" didn't participate in the voting as they have solicitors' rights and intended to avoid eventual conflict of interests. A deputy from "Coalition for Bulgaria" pointed out that these amendments do not concern the solicitors in a way that do for the citizens which will be forced to pay not only the VAT, but the whole amount for administration of the provided service, too. According to the majority this is the way to enact the engagements Bulgaria made to the European Commission.
