The average salary in Bulgaria has increased with 20% for a year

The average monthly wage in the country grew by 20.2 percent in the fourth quarter of 2008 versus the same quarter of the previous year according to the data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). The highest increase was observed in the field of education and healthcare, according to information gathered in the national statistics. The growth in these two sectors are respectively 38% and 30.3%. The lowest pay growth is in the extractive industries (10.6%) and in "Trade and repair of vehicles, personal and household goods" (10.8%). The average growth rate of earnings for the fourth quarter versus the third is from 4.8% to 548 BGN. The largest growth for the period is in Government, Obligatory Social security, Health and Social work, Education and Financial Intermediation sectors. There is a reduction in remuneration in real estate and business services and Agriculture, hunting, forestry and fisheries fields.
