Minimal pension in Bulgaria – 113.49 BGN

From the 1st of July the minimal pension for practice and age shall be 113.49 BGN. The Parliament refused a proposition from the Democrats for Free Bulgaria party the minimal pension to be increased with 50 BGN as they insisted it to be 152.85 BGN
From 164 members of the parliament, 59 voted to accept the preposition, 9 were against and 96 abstention. The majority of the deputies voted abstention right after DFB party appealed them to support the preposition of increasing of the pension.
During the first readings 6 deputies Coalition for Bulgaria supported DFB's statement but during the re-vote they changed their vote.
The deputy from Coalition for Bulgaria Donka Mihailova said that if the minimal pension for insurance practice and age is increased that shall ruin the pension model and shall create inequality between other pensions. It is expected that DFB shall propose an amendment in the Social Insurance code by which all pensions shall be increased with 50 BGN.
